Halloween happens to be one of the holidays that people wait for with bated breadth and one of the reasons why people wait for it is because they get to wear costumes of all kinds. In case one might want to deviate from being a bad character they can always go for bring Van Helsing who was known for killing and hunting many werewolves and vampires in the past. If scary is the chosen look for the night one can always be a zombie, poltergeist or nasty imp.

For people who want to take wearing the best Halloween costumes a notch higher the best one to wear would be those of their favorite wrestling superstars such as The Road Warriors, the Rockers, the Powers of Pain and so on. Another great option would be to take on the look of Goth musicians such as KISS Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, Nicki Sixx and so on.

Bringing back the 50s, 60s or the 70s era will not be such a bad idea as well. Here one can dress up like the famous Jimi Hendrix or they could also have flair pants and afro hair to get the 70s look. Another of the best Halloween costumes could take the form of favorite cartoon characters and some of the best include Cinderella, Dexter, snow white, the grim reaper and so on.

There are so many ideas that one can use to get their idea Halloween costume and the best thing about these ideas is that one can either make them if they are on a tight budget or they can buy them if they have money. There are also great tips on the internet and one should have no problem with either option.

How to Make a Sword -The Six Step Process

The process of making a sword is more than what you see in the movies. For many people being a blacksmith is a fantasy where you pound steel against an anvil, dip it in water and voila! You have a completed sword ready to mow down the evil hordes of creatures that lurk in the forest. But swordmaking is much more than this. Swordmaking is both an art and a craft and it takes hard work, a lot of practice and a significant amount of specialized tools to create a sword. It also takes many years of practice to become proficient at this skill.

Before the blacksmith or swordsmith actually starts hammering or heating the metal for a sword there is a lot of work to be done. The sword size, shape, properties, and metal composition all have to be decided upon. These factors determine the amount of metal, the temperatures of heating and the specific steps in the process that have to be completed. This article doesn't cover the complete art of swordmaking. It will only discuss and outline the process of smithing the blade of a sword.

Ninja Costumes For Kids

There are many different methods for making a sword and the art has changed over the centuries as technologies, tools and the science of metallurgy has changed. But for the past five hundred years there has been one method that still stands as the most common. This is the six step method. of taking a bar of the desired metal to a completed sword.

The First step is Forging

A bar of the desired metal or combination of metals is heated in a forge and then it is hammered into shape.(The shape of a sword) This hammering process can take a long time and it is called drawing out the sword. The sword is worked on in sections (usually around 6 inches in length) and repeatedly hammered and heated until it comes into the desired shape .This process is repeated many times and the sword is often heated then allowed to cool without hammering. This is required by the metal to keep the desired properties of strength and flexibility. Once this step is completed the sword is in the proper shape but the properties of the metal make it very brittle and something has to be done to give flexibility to it.

Step Two: Annealing
Annealing softens the sword and makes it easy to grind into shape. The sword is now heated and then allowed to cool very slowly. Often it is wrapped in an insulating material to slow down this cooling. It can take as long as 24 hours and this annealing process makes the sword soft and easy to grind.

Step Three: Grinding

Now the blacksmith uses a grinder to work out the edge and point of the sword. This would also be when any engraving is added. This is not a completed sword yet. It is still much too soft so it must be hardened.

Step Four: Hardening

Now the sword is heated to a very high temperature and then placed into a quenching tank. (This is what we always see in the movies). This quenching allows it to cool quickly and evenly which will harden the metal. After this hardening the sword is brittle and something must be done to make it strong yet flexible.

Step Five: Tempering

Again the blade is heated and quenched. But now the heating is at a much lower temperature than was used at the hardening. This heating/quenching cycle may be repeated several times. This tempering allows the blade to be strong but not brittle. This is one stage where the skill and experience of the swordsmith is invaluable. It takes a trained hand and eye to understand the properties of the meta. It will have a certain amount of flexibility yet still retain its sharp edge. Now the sword is ready for completion.

Step Six: Completion

The sword blade itself is now complete. Now the additional parts will be added such as the pommel the guard and the hilt.

For the past five hundred years the only way to learn the art of swordmaking was to find a skilled blacksmith or swordsmith that was willing to take you on as an apprentice. Because of the specialized skills and tools, and the skill that is required this tradition remains the best way to do it today.

Before you invest lots of time in money in equipment and materials you should find a master that is willing to teach you the basics of the art. You won't have to devote your life to endless hours of hammering against an anvil and with a little perseverance, a little patience and some practice you will be able to make some decent swords that you can be proud of.

The best way to prepare yourself in your apartment for the onslaught of costumed visitors requires three important steps:

1) Be costumed yourself- This can be a challenging requirement. Finding the right costume takes hours and hours of consideration and concentration. You must select something that will give your visitors a tiny bit of fright, but doesn't make them run screaming from your doorstep. A ghost or a ghoul is always a safe bet, but if you let your creativity run free, I'll bet you can come up with an incredible costume idea.

2) Have a Huge Bowl Of Candy- This is a must. You need to have a bowl of some type of treat to give the critters as they creep by your door. Don't skimp on the candy either. Kids will rue you as the nasty neighbor if you give them a cheap, no-name candy or something that they don't agree with. Giving out something tasty and popular will assure you instant fame amongst the trick or treating clans. Be very very careful though. I remember getting a roll of pennies one year. That was terrible and damaging to my development as a young child. Please do NOT give out the change from your couch.

3) Have Fun- You must take every knock at your door as an opportunity for humor. Laughter will get your through the night. Although it may be aggravating to have people coming by after your 9 PM bedtime, you have to remember that it will only happen once a year. Enjoy yourself and let out your inner-kid. If you don't, it's going to be a long night!

Jessie was great--he spoke perfect English, was really fun, and also happened to be an international guide with GAP travel. On the way up, we picked up beer and candy (fight essentials) and stopped at a great look out point to snap some pictures of La Paz. I had been wanting to check out this view but didn't feel like dealing with all the hassle (not to mention the fact that El Alto is really sketchy), so I was pretty psyched that it was included in our evening activity. How To Draw Naruto

Everyone seems to want to want to learn how to draw Naruto, but who is this person?

Naruto is a popular Japanese anime character on the Cartoon Network. He's a jumpy little ninja that is just trying to seek approval from hi town so he can become the next leader. Unfortunately some things from the past keep most of the villagers from liking him, but Naruto is on a quest to change that.

Ninja Costumes For Kids

As a young ninja, ninja with good qualities, there is plenty reason for kids to be attracted to him and may even want to be like him. Well, now they can live through Naruto by drawing pictures of him on their notebooks and scrap paper.

Here's the basic steps on how to draw Naruto:

First start by drawing a basic, round face. As with any cartoon, anime drawing, you want to use big circles to add the eyes, cheeks and chin. The next step is to start doodling what will be the eyes. These should also be pretty big, as manga drawings tend to have big eyes and pupils. Now add the ears on both sides of the face, and a small nose right in the center. Add some facial features, such as lips and eyebrows, and you have a basic Naruto skeleton.

You might want to add some shading and shadows to include more detail and add some expression to his face by making some eyebrows and dimples. Once you have the basic frame for Naruto outlined, you can start filling in the details to make it actually look like the cartoon character.

Kids and adults are known to have a fascination with Ninjas. Action movies with Ninja as the heroes are a sure crowd pleaser and Ninja costumes or Ninja weapon toys and accessories are big sell-outs.

Ninjago is a new Lego theme that has a great storyline behind it. It may look to be just a simple good guy vs. bad guy story but the elements put in it are unique and it certainly puts a new twist to the Ninja story.

The theme's story is about two brothers Master Wu and Lord Garmadon who are sons of the great Spinjutzu master. Master Wu is set to preserve Ninjago while Lord Garmadon is determined to use it for his own evil ways. This brings about a faction between the two brothers.

Because of this Lord Garmadon leads the Skeleton Army into destroying Ninjago and Master Wu trains 4 Ninjas into the art of Spinjitzu, the art of Ninja spinning.

With 27 Ninjago products already out, the addition of the Ninjago Fire Temple 2507 is a great way to maintain the fire in the Lego and Ninja fascination that kids and adults have.

The Ninjago 2507 set is an enormous set that includes 1174 Lego pieces. Imagine what you can come up with these many Lego pieces.

Even without sticking to the instruction to create the set models, kids and adults alike will have a grand time building pieces of their choice. This would entail hours and hours of playtime.

The Ninjago 2507 set also comes with seven mini figures, which is a lot more than usual. Previous sets only carried up to four. Each of the faction is represented well.

The characters included in the set from the Heroes side are Sensei Wu in black robes, the Ninjas Kai and Zane, plus the female Ninja Nya. It also includes from the Skeleton Army side Lord Garmadon, and skeletons, Samukai and Kruncha. You can playfully switch sides playing out the theme or choose one and have a friend to choose the other. Endless play possibilities are at hand.

A Japanese-style temple is the biggest model in the set. It stands out far higher than the mini figures and the other figurines included in the Ninjago 2507.

The temple can be split in the middle into two parts. This happens when the Sword of Fire is lifted and when the center character is revealed. It also has a gaping hole in the top part for the main character of the Ninjago Fire Temple to rest his head.

Perhaps the coolest part of the Ninjago Fire Temple 2507 is the focal character, which is the Fire Dragon. This character is not just one complete figure, but actually consists of Lego pieces that must be put to together to come up with the cool figurine.

It is impressively tall and also has a wide wingspan. It looks a bit similar to the Ninjago Ice Dragon. The Fire Dragon is Kai's dragon of choice, him being a fire Ninja.

18 weapons including four golden weapons are added bonuses to the set. These are added as if all the other models and minifigures aren't enough for playtime.

The Ninjago Fire Temple 2507 really is a cool addition to the Ninjago series. It gives you a lot to play with plus it carries almost all of the main characters in the theme, plus it includes a cool dragon character. Lego and Ninja fans won't be disappointed.
